Case of periodical affection of the eyes and chest.Med. -chir. Trans., 10, 161-65, 1819.Bostock’s classical description of the “catarrhus aestivus,” hay fever, is also referred to as “Bostock’s catarrh”. It begins the modern era in the clinical recognition of hay fever. The case he described was in fact himself. He was physician to Guy’s Hospital, London.
